About us
Blank Canvas Coffee Company was founded on a simple idea: good coffee takes time. We're a small team based in Southern California, working carefully behind the scenes before we bring our beans to market.
What's brewing this week
Bruno's still tweaking the roast curve and won't say why. Denise has a tasting-notes spreadsheet nobody else is allowed to touch. Kevin just learned what a portafilter is. Patricia is drafting a break room refrigerator policy. And Gary rearranged the office furniture again. That's about where things stand — we're figuring it out one batch at a time, in public.
A few things we've learned about coffee
- Coffee beans aren't actually beans — they're the pits of a fruit called the coffee cherry.
- It takes a coffee tree three to four years to produce its first harvestable cherries.
- Finland drinks more coffee per person than any other country in the world.
- “Espresso” describes the brewing method, not a bean, roast, or blend.
